Accused serial killer's ex-girlfriend speaks, says she's still in touch with Jesse Calhoun
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Some disturbing details are emerging about the accused serial killer Jesse Calhoun thanks to an exclusive interview with one of his ex-girlfriends.
The woman, Krista Sinor, told News Nation she still keeps in touch with Calhoun. They originally met online through Facebook.
What’s more, some of Calhoun’s things are still in her apartment, which she said was thoroughly searched by investigators earlier this year. She said she suspected something wasn’t right before Calhoun was arrested on parole violations.
Sinor said the relationship was fraught at times, with Calhoun writing on her with a marker and even getting physical with her on occasion.
“There was a few times that things weren’t going the way he was hoping to go and he would like throw me to the side, you know, but on the bed, you know," she said. "And just...he would always say, like, if he got mad, like if he stubbed his toe or something, he’d be like, ‘Don’t talk to me. Just know that I can’t be talked to for a few minutes, you know, when I get angry, just let me be and we’ll discuss it later.’”
She added she’s still in disbelief about recent events, calling the situation “confusing.” They’re still in contact via phone and letters.
“So I mean, those times that, you know, I was thrown on the bed and he would be angry or whatever saying that I did something to, you know, mess things up, he would come back and apologize for that," she said.
The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office announced Friday that Calhoun, who was already in custody for an unrelated charge, is now facing murder charges in connection to three women's deaths in 2023.
