- Some tough news for the Giants — star Korean outfielder Jung Hoo Lee will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.
- It was reported yesterday that former Angels infielder David Fletcher also bet using Ippei Mizuhara’s illegal bookie. Though, the infielder did not bet on baseball.
- Paul Skenes was far more impressive in his second career big league outing, striking out the first seven batters he faced en route to six hitless innings.

7-time All-Star and 2021 Roberto Clemente Award winner Nelson Cruz has been named a consultant to MLB in a new role as Special Advisor for Baseball Operations.
