This is a translation back to English of the Bengali rendition (poem and musical composition) by Kazi Nazrul Islam (1899-1976) in 1927 of the renowned anthem of the oppressed rising up against tyranny, The Internationale, originally in French (1871). The current one by this author incorporates a few contextual differences based on the Indian freedom movement. The translation is accompanied by commentary and notes.
