'Pitch In' program introduced in Troy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The "Pitch In" initiative was introduced Tuesday in Troy, which invites residents to adopt part of the city. By "adopting" streets, gateways, and alleyways, residents and businesses can help keep the City clean.

According to Mayor Carmella Mantello's office, the ‘Pitch In’ initiative will complement the Quality of Life Action Task Force. Those who participate will help by cleaning streets, picking up litter, painting, planting flowers, and helping keep the city clean.

“Several neighborhood associations, residents, and businesses are already volunteering their time to help us keep Troy clean,” said Mayor Mantello. “The ‘Pitch In’ program will allow us to recognize these efforts and encourage more individuals to get involved.”
