Caitlin Clark was unsurprisingly honored as WNBA Rookie of the Month for May
Despite all the hubbub, Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark still managed to win the WNBA’s first Rookie of the Month honor of the new season.
Clark’s arrival has been one of the most talked-about storylines in sports this year, much of the focus on perceived (and largely unfounded) WNBA pettiness toward her debut and how she’s performing on the court compared to her college days at Iowa.
While rookies like Cameron Brink and Angel Reese are playing quite well for their respective teams, it always felt like Clark was destined to take this honor… and may well keep taking it throughout the rest of the season.
It’s very earned, too, as she’s clearly the best scorer to come out of her rookie class so far, even if the Fever are struggling on the court.
Clark is also still the clear favorite for 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year (-650) at FanDuel ahead of Brink (+700) and Reese (+1200).
she's just getting started
