Man who escaped from Oregon State Hospital pleads guilty to attempted murder
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man who was on the run for days after escaping from Oregon State Hospital custody last year was sentenced to 22 years in prison on Monday.
Christopher Lee Pray pleaded guilty to attempted murder, robbery and multiple assault charges.
According to the Multnomah County District Attorney's office, Pray admitted to his involvement in the shooting death of Silas High Hawk back in 2021.
Pray was captured in September 2023 after getting stuck in the mud of a Portland pond.
"The DA’s Office thanks the many law enforcement officers and detectives who assisted with these cases. The office is pleased to resolve multiple open cases at once and that Pray’s sentence will prohibit him from further harming the community for the foreseeable future," the DA's office said.
