Albany man sentenced for theft, car stripping
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- An Albany man charged with grand larceny was sentenced to three-and-a-half to seven years by an Albany County judge on Monday. Sherman Chambers, 50, was sentenced as a predicate felon for stripping and stealing parts to vehicles.
Charges
- One count of third-degree grand larceny
- One count of fourth-degree grand larceny
- One count of third-degree auto stripping
According to District Attorney David Soares, Chambers guilty plea satisfied two other cases. He pleaded guilty to a Superior Court for stealing the wheels and tires of multiple cars at local dealerships listed below:
- April 16, 2023: Stole four wheels and tires from a Lia Honda vehicle.
- August 20, 2023: Stole four wheels and tires from a Nemer Volkswagen vehicle.
- August 28, 2023: Stole four wheels and tires from a Audi Albany vehicle.
- September 3, 2023: Stole four more wheels and tires from another Audi Albany vehicle.
