Two people dead after shooting in east Columbus park during candelight vigil
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Two people are dead after a shooting at a candlelight vigil in east Columbus Monday night.
According to Columbus police, officers were dispatched on a report of a shooting at Krumm Park on the 800 block of Alton Avenue around 9:54 p.m. Upon arrival, police said two males were pronounced dead around 10:07 p.m.
At the scene, Columbus Police Sgt. Joseph Albert said one of the dead males may be a juvenile.
Albert said the candlelight vigil being held at the time of the shooting was for Da'Mya Cummerlander, who was shot and killed early Sunday on the 2600 block of Woodsedge Road.
At least 50 people, possibly more, were at the scene when officers arrived, Albert said.
Albert said there are no suspects in custody at this time and no suspect information is available. The investigation is expected to extend into Tuesday morning, he said.
