UConn Beats Sooners to Win Regional Title
Oklahoma's baseball team couldn't get their offense going and Connecticut beat the Sooners 7-1 in the championship game of the NCAA regional at Mitchell Park in Norman on Monday night.
The Huskies broke the game open with a pair of two-run home runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-0 lead.
Connecticut added a pair of runs in the fifth inning on two RBI singles, then another run scoring single in the 8th made it 7-0.
OU's lone run came in the ninth inning when Jackson Nicklaus grounded into a double play as Easton Carmichael scored.
The three-seeded Huskies advance to the super regional in Tallahassee to play Florida State.
The Sooners had seven hits scattered and saw their season come to an end at 40-21.
