Motorcyclist seriously injured in West Hartford crash
A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision involving a car in West Hartford on Monday.
The crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m. in the area of 433 South Main St., according to Capt. Daniel Moffo of the West Hartford Police Department.
Moffo said the motorcyclist involved was taken to an area hospital and treated for serious injuries. The driver of the car suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and was also taken to an area hospital.
Following the crash, police closed South Main Street between New Britain Avenue and Beechwood Road. Traffic exiting Interstate 84 onto South Main Street was detoured north to avoid the area.
The roads surrounding the crash were reopened by 6 p.m., according to Moffo.
The crash is being investigated by the West Hartford Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team.
