Report: Dutch club want to sign Spurs 22-year-old to ‘fire them up the table’
Football London report that AZ Alkmaar are interested in signing Troy Parrott from Tottenham Hotspur this summer as they look to climb their way up the table next season.
Troy Parrott is fresh off scoring 17 goals and assisting another five for Excelsior Rotterdam in the Eredivisie last season, although he couldn’t save the club from relegation.
It appears the 22-year-old forward may have unfinished business in the Dutch league as AZ Alkmaar have earmarked him as a potential summer signing.
Although clubs in Italy, the Netherlands and the Championship in England are looking at Parrott this summer, it is said that Alkmaar are currently showing the most concrete interest in the player.
AZ Alkmaar want to sign Troy Parrott from Tottenham
Alkmaar finished fourth in the Eredivisie last season and are looking for a new striker to fire them up the table next season, with Troy Parrott highlighted as one such man.
While Parrott’s intention has always been to break into the Tottenham first-team, the North London club are reportedly on the lookout for a new striker of their own this summer which could leave the youngster surplus to requirements.
If that is the case, AZ Alkmaar look set to position themselves for a summer transfer.
Spurs Web Opinion:
Troy Parrott is a good striker and should be starting week-in week-out for a team, whether that be in the Championship or another European league. I don’t get the sense that he is next in line at Tottenham to be an understudy on the bench, let alone a lead striker, so a transfer seems inevitable this summer.
