Foreign media have reported the crash of a military aircraft in Turkey, resulting in the deaths of two pilots.

Reuters, in a report released moments after the crash, wrote that a Turkish Army training aircraft crashed on Tuesday, June 4, in the province of “Kayseri” in central Turkey, killing two pilots.

According to this media outlet, the SF-260 D training aircraft took off from the Kayseri Air Base with two pilots for training exercises and crashed for unknown reasons.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense has announced that immediate rescue teams were dispatched to the crash site and found that both pilots had died in the accident.

Earlier, one of the most tragic occurred on March 4, 2021, when a Cougar military helicopter crashed in the eastern province of Bitlis, resulting in the deaths of 11 Turkish soldiers, including a high-ranking general. The crash was attributed to adverse weather conditions.

Another significant helicopter crash happened on March 31, 2019, when a Bell UH-1 military helicopter went down in a residential area of Istanbul, killing all four soldiers on board. This incident highlighted the challenges of operating military helicopters in densely populated urban environments.
