Tucupita Marcano won a staggering low amount of MLB bets for someone with insider information
Tucupita Marcano is the latest name to be banned from Major League Baseball due to betting on the game.
The San Diego Padres infielder received a permanent ban, with the league announcing that data from a legal sportsbook showed he had placed 387 bets on baseball. Of those, 231 of them were related to MLB. He bet a total of over $150,000, and although he didn’t appear in any of the games he bet on, some were on the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he played at the time.
The biggest note, though? With all of his information, he only won 4.3 percent of his MLB bets.
Wha? Wild, isn’t it?

150k in bets with a 4.3% win rate is insane, especially if he was only betting sides. I'm not sure you could do this poorly if you were *trying* to lose. https://t.co/pIgrrUWUwG pic.twitter.com/auCVmmNTNX
