‘My wife hates you,’ people jealously tell thrift shopper who scored pricey kitchen appliance for only $25
AN avid thrifter has shared the kitchen appliance he picked up for a fraction of its original price.
Reddit users shared their jealousy over the surprising houseware find.
In the Reddit post, user Wafflesthecat123 showed a picture of the holy grail item.
He described his kitchen purchase as a “thrift store steal.”
The image revealed that he picked up an electric mixer stand including a stainless steel bowl.
Upon closer inspection, the thrifter noticed the appliance had a brand name label.
The KitchenAid Pro Line currently retails for $499.95 from Williams Sonoma.
However, the Redditor was able to take it home from his local thrift store for just $25.
Reddit users shared their thoughts on the bargain find in the comments section.
“My wife hates you, good find,” joked one impressed reader.
The original poster replied that his wife was very happy with the mixer.
“That’s only hundreds less than I paid for mine!” said another social media user.
Some people expressed their envy over the original poster’s luck.
“I am equally envious of *and * elated for you!” commented a third person.
“I would like to curse you out in a rage of crying jealousy, but alas, that’s not very appropriate. Enjoy the mixer!!!” said another Reddit user.
“Good find, proper thrift store price. Congrats, my friend!” wrote one reader.
“You stole it for that price,” joked another person.
INSPIRING THRIFTERS
Other Reddit users said they felt encouraged by the lucky find and set out to search for their own steals.
“OH MY STARS! I am heading out to scour all the thrift stores. That is unreal!” said one person.
“OMG, I need to go shopping with you and then buy a lottery ticket!!” wrote another Redditor.
Another thrifter was shocked by the contents of the wooden box that cost them $2.
One person picked up earrings at a yard sale only to learn they were worth 1,000 times what they had paid.
