Local airport to host World War II aircrafts
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- World War II bombers, a B-29, and other historic aircrafts will hit the tarmac of Schenectady County Airport as part of the upcoming Commemorative Air Force's Airpower History Tour. The national air tour allows people to see and catch a ride on historic aircrafts from Wednesday, June 12, to Sunday, June 16.
Tickets can only be purchased the day of the event and are $20 for adults, $10 for kids 11 to 17, and kids 10 and under get in for free. Tickets include a free tour of the B-29 cockpit, and riders' admission is complimentary with proof of purchase. Attendance is subject to change because of weather or aircraft maintenance.
Aircraft rides can be booked in advance and a full schedule of tours and rides can be found on the Airpower History Tour website. The planes are being staged at the Richmor Aviation FBO ramp at the airport.
