Goldfish Crackers Unveil Tangy, Spicy New Flavor Inspired by TikTok

Pickle lovers rejoice, because Goldfish Crackers have unveiled a new limited edition Spicy Dill Pickle flavor just in time for summer 2024. And we have a proliferation of pickle-obsessed TikTok videos partly to thank for it.

According to a press release shared on Tuesday by the brand's parent company, Campbell Soup Company, the Spicy Dill Pickle flavor is said to have "the perfect balance of tangy dill pickle with the spicy kick of red chili peppers." The company points to the over 300 million pickle-related posts on TikTok as inspiration, as even Dr Pepper has gotten a long-overdue bump from the platform because of users adding pickles to the beverages.

In addition to TikTok, Goldfish cites 2023 Grubhub data, which found that 53 million Americans are requesting extra spice, with the top spicy dishes ordered last year including spicy potato soft tacos, spicy chicken sandwiches, and spicy tuna rolls.

"Fan passion for new Goldfish flavors is a constant source of inspiration for us," said Janda Lukin, SVP and Chief Marketing Office of Campbell's Snacks in a statement. "Overwhelming demand on social media and even a petition for a pickle flavor fueled the creation of our new Spicy Dill Pickle cracker. This delicious and craveable summer snack is sure to satisfy Goldfish and pickle enthusiasts alike."

The pickle-flavored Goldfish join other limited edition "spicy" flavors such as Frank's Red Hot and Old Bay seasoned crackers.
