Novak Djokovic will no longer continue in the French Open.
The 37-year-old Serbian tennis player announced on Tuesday (June 4) that he is withdrawing from the tournament after suffering an injury during his fourth round match on Monday.
Novak tweaked his knee at the start of the second set and needed a medical timeout. While he felt better by the end of the match, it appears he won’t recover in time to complete the tournament.

“I am really sad to announce that I have to withdraw from Roland Garros. I played with my heart and gave my all in yesterday’s match and unfortunately, due to a medial meniscus tear in my right knee, my team and I had to make a tough decision after careful consideration and consultation,” Novak wrote on Instagram. “I wish the best of luck to the players competing this week and sincerely thank the incredible fans for all of the love and continued support.”
Novak needed medical attention earlier this month after an incident involving a fan at the Italian Open.
