Jay Blades seen for first time back filming Repair Shop without wedding ring amid marriage split
JAY Blades has been seen for first time back on the set of The Repair Shop since his marriage split.
The broadcaster was spotted filming scenes without his wedding ring as he made his way back in front of the cameras, despite temporarily ‘cutting ties’ with the show.
Jay Blades was seen back at work on The Repair Shop[/caption]Jay, 54, was previously absent from the set of The Repair Shop as production resumed on the hit BBC show last week.
But it seems he’s seemingly been permitted by the BBC to resume work as he filmed scenes at the Bournemouth set.
The TV personality was dressed in his signature style as he wore an oversized jacket and the look was completed with one of his flat caps.
He appeared to be in good spirits as he sported nothing but smiles as he went back to the day job.
Jay happily chatted with the fellow experts, contributors and crew on the National Television Award winning show.
However on closer look, he was not wearing his wedding ring after his wife said that she had left him.
Sources close to the production told Click News, that his presence back on set has brought back a sense of ‘normalcy’ after he took time away from the show.
Jay is best known for his role on The Repair Shop, which sees the restoration expert alongside a team of specialists attempt to repair damaged antiques.
Members of the public bring in some of their most treasured family heirlooms to the shop in an attempt to get them restored to their former glory.
The experts work round the clock to see if they can mend and transform the items to how they were before wear and tear sunk in.
Despite the clouds over his marriage split hanging over him, it seems fans can look forward to seeing the star back on screen in the near future.
He also took time away after it was revealed in April that his uncle Richard Brathwaite had been killed.
A source said: “Jay has taken a step back and is having a break from filming The Repair Shop.
“His uncle’s death in March and the breakdown of his marriage means he has decided to take some time out.”
“The Repair Shop is carrying on without him for now and the other repairers are hard at work.”
The source added: “People who worked with Jay said they were shocked to hear that his marriage to Lisa had ended.
“It was not well known at all among the people who work on the show.”
He also pulled out of another work appearance when he was due to take to the stage at Hay Festival.
The star was supposed to share a conversation with journalist Sarfraz Manzoor at the Welsh Festival to promote his book, Life Lessons: Wisdom And Wit From Life’s Ups And Downs.
Last month, his wife, fitness coach Lisa Marie Zbozen revealed on social media that their marriage was over.
In a lengthy essay she wrote: “I probably should be really angry but I’m just incredibly sad about the whole thing right now. I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much.
“I hope you don’t mind if I just have a few days trying to figure out my life as I’m currently in a spare room with a few essentials.”
