In the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, 148 out of 162 candidates (91%) lost their security deposits, according to the Election Commission. This means they failed to secure at least one-sixth (16.67%) of the total polled votes, which is required to retain the deposit. The ruling AAP in Delhi, in alliance with the Congress, contested with a four-three formula but failed to win any seats as the BJP swept all seven seats. The BSP, contesting on all seven seats, remained in third place, with candidates unable to cross 20,000 votes, except for the winners and runners-up. An Independent candidate from Chandani Chowk received the lowest number of votes, just 140.
