Bryant and Stratton College to launch new nursing degree
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Bryant and Stratton College announced they will be offering a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at their Albany campus. The program will launch at the start of the Fall 2024 semester on September 4.
After previously offering similar degrees at Bryant and Stratton locations in Rochester, Syracuse and Orchard Park, the new Albany program will aim to address the need for more nurses in the Capital Region. Headed by Dr. Melissa Davis, the program will allow students to gain hands-on health care experience in the college's new advanced nursing and simulation labs.
"We're thrilled to announce the launch of our bachelor's degree program in Albany, aimed at meeting the pressing need for baccalaureate-prepared nurses in New York State," Dr. Davis said. "Students may enter this program without any previous college coursework and will finish in under three years. With projections indicating a shortfall of almost 40,000 nurses in New York State by 2030, Bryant and Stratton is poised to train the future workforce to combat this shortage."
The program is registered and accredited by the New York State Education Department's Office of College and University Evaluation. The Bryant and Stratton College Albany campus is located at 1259 Central Avenue in Colonie. Anyone interested in applying can visit the college's website.
