Los Angeles Valley College held its 2024 commencement ceremony on Tuesday morning at the college’s Monarch Stadium in Valley Glen.
Eligible graduates numbered more than 1,500 for the class of 2024, said Jennifer Fong Boucki, manager, public relations for the college, in an email.

The ceremony was live streamed on YouTube Live for family and friends who couldn’t attend the ticketed ceremony (www.lavc.edu/campus-life/graduation)
The two-year community college, founded in September 1949, is one of the nine colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District (www.laccd.edu/our-colleges).
Fun facts: the Monarch Lion is the school mascot; the sports teams are called the “Monarchs”; the college’s colors — green and gold — were chosen by the 1949 inaugural class.
