City of Jennings releases Parks and Recreation survey
JENNINGS, La. (KLFY) – The Jennings Parks and Recreation Department is looking to gather information on how they can upgrade the city's parks.
The city recently sent out a survey to get resident's input on what they would like to see from parks and recreations. Donald Citizen Jr. with Jennings Parks and Recreation says a survey with the goal of getting public feedback on the city's parks was made available via Facebook and will be available until June 21. "With the survey being out, we're going to look forward to seeing the citizens response."
He says once surveys are in, the city is going to discuss what can be done to upgrade the parks and recreation. Citizen says there has been improvement to some parks, but the city wants to know what more they can do. He says it's important to get the public's feedback in order to continue providing a space for the community to be engaged. "Once we get more kids participating, the numbers will go up and you want nice facilities," says Citizen.
The survey asks questions about what amenities the public would like to see such as walking trails, more pickleball courts, or even a new swimming pool. It also ask if citizens would support a property millage and sales tax to afford the amenities. Citizen says it's a way residents can get what they want.
"We're going to just keep working hard to give the citizens what they want, and what we deserve out here in Jennings."
