Motorcycle rider dies in crash on Cross Bronx Expressway

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A motorcycle rider died after crashing into the back of a Costco tractor-trailer on a Bronx highway Wednesday night, police said.

The 35-year-old man was thrown off his Harley Davidson after hitting the 18-wheeler on the westbound Cross Bronx Expressway at around 9 p.m., police said. The man was rushed to the hospital with head and body injuries but could not be saved.

The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene. There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

The rider has not been identified.
