Man accused of sexually assaulting boy, 11, in New Jersey

NEW JERSEY (PIX11) --- A man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy in Irvington, New Jersey on Monday, authorities said.

Caream Davis, 46, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault, attempted sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and terroristic threats, prosecutors said Thursday.

U.S. Marshals arrested Davis in Virginia Wednesday night and will he be extradited to New Jersey, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors did not provide details about the assaults but did say one of the victims was a minor and the other an adult.

Surveillance video showed a suspect approaching the 11-year-old and dragging him from the front of the house to the side. PIX11 News has learned that the perpetrator took the child to the back of the house and threatened to kill him if he made any noise.

The boy was walking his dog on Ellis Avenue at around 6:30 a.m. when the incident occurred, according to the Irvington Detective Bureau. The family told PIX11 News that the suspect waited when the boy was about to enter the home.

“My son being strangled in front of my house; he was taken right over there, yes, to the back,” the mother previously told PIX11 News.
