FRANKLIN, La. (KLFY) -- A former St. Mary Parish corrections deputy has been arrested and charged with bringing an illegal phone into the jail and illegal sexual conduct with an inmate, authorities said.
Malayie Myon McBride, 20, of Baldwin, was arrested at 1:39 p.m. Thursday and charged with possession of contraband-penal institution, malfeasance in office and malfeasance in office-sexual conduct, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.
Officials said a detective at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center obtained information regarding possible contraband that was brought into the jail. Investigators said McBride had brought a phone into the jail and phone calls of a sexual nature were also made with an inmate.
McBride was located Thursday and taken to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond details were not released.
