Elephant Rumblings: A’s drop fourth straight series
MLB news roundup
Happy Friday, Athletics Nation!
The A’s have been at least marginally competitive from game to game lately, but their inconsistent offense has come up short more often than not. As a result, the A’s have lost each of their last four series, two games to one, comprising a 4-8 stretch. At least they’ve managed not to get swept since the mid-May highway hellride through which the A’s managed but a single win against nine losses.
Today is a new day, with a new series beginning at the Coliseum against the Blue Jays. Hogan Harris and Luis Medina are both projected to make starts and will hopefully build upon their promising recent appearances.
Hogan Harris will start tomorrow's series opener for the A's. Luis Medina goes Saturday.

Recent callups to the rotation have been a bright spot for the team. Joey Estes carried a perfecto into the seventh inning against the Mariners on Wednesday and has pitched to a 3.03 FIP since returning to Oakland last month.
The A’s pitching has been mostly solid of late despite a spate of injuries that have landed veterans Paul Blackburn, Alex Wood, and Ross Stripling on the IL. The problem continues to be a lack of timely hitting combined with too many defensive miscues. The A’s have scored more than three runs only twice in the past dozen games.
Let’s see if the A’s offense can turn a corner this weekend. Hope yours is fantastic.

Casey has a word with the Ballers’ trailblazing starter Kelsie Whitmore.
Tonight @KelsieWhitmore makes baseball history AGAIN. She'll be the first woman to ever start a @PBL1939 game when she takes the mound for the @OaklandBallers. Had a great time getting to know her. pic.twitter.com/xuQYL8HGU9
