Pauls Valley’s Okie Noodling Festival returns June 14 & 15
PAULS VALLEY, Okla. (KFOR) - Oklahomans are gearing up for the hottest noodling tournament in Pauls Valley with people expected to come from around the world for some Okie Noodling!
Participants at this years Pauls Valley Okie Noodling Festival can expect the event to start Friday on June 14 with gates opening at 5 p.m. with live music.
According to Okie Noodling website, this tournament has been the pulse of the noodling community and has served to inspire television shows, feature films, and books. This event is the only sponsored noodling tournament in the world and has resulted in the sport's recent popular success through shows like Hillbilly Handfishin' (Animal Planet) and Mudcats (History Channel.) Past years have brought The BBC, National Geographic, The New York Times, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, The Sportsman Channel and The Discovery Channel to cover this unique festival.
Tickets are $25 and available online here the gate on the night of the show.
On Saturday, June 15 vendors are set to open at 10 a.m. with tons of scheduled activities that include watermelon crawl, men’s only wet T-shirt contest, kids catfish eating contest, Okie Noodling queen competition with fish weigh-ins set from noon to 6 p.m.
A free show will be at 8:30 p.m. featuring Ray and the High Rollers and William Clark Green.
