Stoller Family Estate founder receives 'prestigious' international recognition
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Bill Stoller -- Founder and proprietor of Oregon's Stoller Family Estate -- is one of two recipients of a prestigious international award for his contributions to the wine industry, the winery announced Thursday.
The Fédération Internationale Des Confréries Bachiques, or International Federation of Wine Brotherhoods, based in Paris, awarded Stoller with a Diploma of Honor celebrating his "unwavering commitment to finding harmony between tradition and innovation, honoring heritage while pushing the boundaries of excellence,” Stoller Wine Group said.
Since its inception in 1963, the FICB has awarded 26 people from 10 countries with the diploma.
"This international recognition truly humbles me," Stoller said. "I'm fortunate to have visited every major wine region around the world and am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to share the remarkable wines crafted in Oregon, making this accolade all the more meaningful."
The winery highlighted Stoller's work bringing Oregon wine to the global stage and efforts around sustainability, leading Stoller Family Estate to become the world’s first LEED Gold certified winery.
California wine pioneer Warren Winiarsky received the other FICB Diploma of Honor alongside Stoller.
