Renovation pro says former ‘luxury’ is now a ‘necessity’ to boost home value – & the line-blurring detail buyers want
A RENOVATION expert has deemed a former luxury as a necessity in today’s seller’s market.
She said that the home tweak will boost the value of any abode.
Danielle Mathews, the co-owner of Reborn Renovations dished the details on the eight changes.
She covered everything from home technology to outdoor transformations.
She also addressed bathroom fixes as well as sprucing up the home office.
Her eight tips promise to create a home that no buyer can resist.
HOW IT’S DONE
First, Mathews discussed integrating smart technology into the home.
“The integration of smart home technology in your property is no longer a luxury, it’s now a necessity,” she said.
Some examples include, voice-controlled assistants, automated lighting and climate control systems.
The change can make the home more modern.
She also recommended open-concept floor plants for easier access between rooms.
Mathews added not to neglect outdoor spaces either, saying that the line between indoor and outdoor living is blurred these days.
One upgrade she suggested could also save money in the long run — going energy-efficient.

Mathews emphasized today’s expectations from home buyers.
“The pandemic has highlighted the importance of dedicated home office spaces,” she said.
She also said a little luxury can go a long way, including in the bathroom.
Mathews highlighted amenities like walk-in showers and heated floors.
She didn’t skimp out when it comes to a kitchen transformation.
“The kitchen remains the heart of your home,” she said.
“And buyers are more than willing to invest when it comes to high-quality upgrades.”
Finally, she mentioned curb appeal in the form of quality landscaping.
“With these top renovations, homeowners can not only create a more enjoyable living space but also position their properties to attract buyers,” she said.
“And [they can] potentially command higher sale prices in the competitive 2024 real estate market.”
