It has now been five days since India lost to Qatar, thanks to one of the worst refereeing howlers of recent times. The ball had crossed the goal line and gone out of play, but the referees failed to notice. The Indian football association, AIFF, has formally complained to both the world and Asian governing bodies – FIFA and AFC – but are yet to hear back. And chances are they won’t. Nothing tangible will come out of it.
