The Election Commission of India (ECI) has dismissed a newspaper report claiming that a phone was used by a relative of Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Waikar to unlock an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) inside a counting centre in Maharashtra. The ECI issued a notice to a tabloid newspaper in Mumbai, which claimed Waikar's relative Mangesh Pandilkar was using a phone that generated an OTP to open the EVM.
