My brother’s best friend pledged her love for him at my wedding – he was already engaged but that wasn’t the worst part
A WOMAN has opened up about how her brother’s best friend ruined her wedding day.
Not only did the friend choose her reception to profess her love for her brother but her brother was already taken.

Years after her wedding day, she reflected on her big magical day that wasn’t.
“This is an older story because I didn’t realize as the bride at the time how horrible this actually was until years later,” she said.
“I have now been married for almost thirty years.
“But everyone who attended my wedding only remembers one event that occurred. And it has nothing to do with my actual nuptials.”
She explained that her brother and his longtime female best friend had been in attendance at her ceremony.
“She actually chose my wedding reception to declare her love for my brother,” she said.
Unfortunately for her and her brother, the best friend’s timing couldn’t have been worse.
“He was already engaged at that point to his college girlfriend,” she said.
“This led to a confrontation in the middle of the reception.”
To her further disappointment, her family got caught up in the drama.
“Instead of protecting and defending myself and my husband, my family instead rallied around my brother,” she said.
“The worst thing was that nobody including my immediate family shut this down.
“And nobody actually recognized that this drama wasn’t fair to myself or my husband.”

The woman added that she seemed to not be able to escape the events of that day.
“Even now years later, any conversation about my wedding with relatives is focused on the fight,” she said.
Worse than having her wedding overshadowed, she explained that she and her husband are still constantly gaslighted.
“The worst is that any time myself or my husband bring up how unfair this situation was to us we are met with a huge backlash about how hard this was on my brother,” she said.
“My brother was always the middle golden child who could do no wrong.”
Unlike her family, viewers took her side.
“That was crazy of the friend to choose that moment to confess. Zero self awareness,” said one commenter.
Others suggested ways to replace the ruined moment with a happier memory.
“Why don’t you and your husband renew your vows and have the wedding you deserve?” suggested one commenter.
“You can do a destination one like Las Vegas or Hawaii or even on a cruise. Make new happy drama free memories centered around yourselves.”
“f possible, I’d suggest you and your husband go get remarried with only people you want there or just the two of you!” seconded another.
“Create a new happy memory and marry your husband over and over again.”
