Gov. Wes Moore surprises Maggie Rogers at Merriweather Post Pavilion with day in her honor
Not that it was ever really going to happen, but nobody’s going to forget Maggie Rogers now.
The Grammy-nominated Easton singer-songwriter received a surprise tribute Sunday night during her Don’t Forget Me Tour concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia when Gov. Wes Moore came onstage and announced June 16, 2024, to be Maggie Rogers Day in the state of Maryland.
He told the crowd that the honor was “because of her work, because of the way that she represents Maryland in such a beautiful way, because of her work registering voters, because of her work in being a champion for reproductive health, advocating for fair ticket pricing.”
The two embraced and the audience broke into a chant of “Maggie, Maggie, Maggie!”
“I accept,” Rogers, 30, said.
“I love Maryland,” she said before continuing her set.
