Celebrating Father's Day with dads and kids at Scissortail Park
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Father's Day is the day for dads, grandfathers, and those who hold a father figure in life. Dads and their families went to Scissortail Park on Sunday to celebrate at the 5th annual Father's Day Fest.
At the festival, dads and their children reflected on what they love most about each other.
"It's great seeing this little guy grow and just kind of experience things. It's been really wonderful being a first time dad," said Nicholas Ramirez, who was holding his son, Aiden.
"I like just waking up every morning and having just like a little best friend every day," said Vagner Lima.
"I really like playing with legos with my dad," Jackie, who also said she liked when her dad teaches her math.
"I like to play video games with him," said Jack.
"They just keep you on your toes and keep you young," said Ken Stoll.
A family from Texas was visiting Oklahoma this weekend and shared why they love being together as well.
"I'm a little sad a little bit because as you can see now. They grow up. And when they grow up you can't be that same kind of grandad and they still tell me all the time papa I love you, I still love you, it's makes me want to cry now," said Ronald Scott.
"I love spending time with him and how we just joke around and stuff," said Mya Scott.
If you missed this years Father's Day Fest, organizers said they hope next year is even bigger and encourage everyone to enjoy the free event.
