New York’s 16th Congressional District includes a portion of Westchester County and part of the northern Bronx.
The race between Bowman and Latimer has been arguably the most closely watched contest ahead of the upcoming primary elections in New York. Millions of dollars from outside the district have poured into the race ever since Latimer launched his challenge of Bowman.
Bowman, a two-term incumbent, has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2021.
Latimer has served as the county executive in Westchester since 2018.
A recent PIX11 poll showed Latimer leading Bowman 48% to 31% just weeks before Election Day. The survey of likely Democratic primary voters in New York’s 16th Congressional District was conducted by PIX11, Emerson College and The Hill. Of those polled, 21% were still undecided.
The early voting period for New York’s primary elections is currently underway and will end on June 23. Election Day is June 25.
