FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Happy Monday!
The very hottest days of the year are here, with temperatures soaring into the mid to upper 90s much of this week. "Feels-like" temps will be even hotter as our humidity increases, which gives us that higher heat index.
For our Monday, expect air temps in the mid 90s, with heat index values into the triple digits. We'll be very muggy today, with mostly sunny skies. As a result of the heat and humidity, parts of the area could see a quick, isolated pop-up storm later in the day.
Tuesday will be a similar setup, with air temps in the mid 90s and "feels-like" temps in the triple digits. Once again, we'll be looking at isolated storms.
This hot stretch continues, with temperatures into the mid to upper 90s through the end of the workweek. Humidity drops slightly, but it will still be fairly sticky out.
Make sure you're staying hydrated, wearing light colors, and taking breaks in the A/C. Always check pavement for your pets to make sure it's not too hot for their paws. And make sure you've got the sunscreen handy all week!
