Norman PD reminds drivers how fast cars can heat up

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) - As summer approaches, the Norman Police Department is reminding drivers not to leave kids, pets or seniors in the car.
According to Norman Police, it only takes about 10 minutes for the temperature in your car to heat up 20 degrees. Sitting in a hot car can be fatal and cracking a window does not protect your loved ones from the heat.
NPD says once you park:
- Stop
- Look
- Lock
This way you avoid leaving anyone in the car, even if it's only for a minute.
