“My greatest tip — welding gloves for cooking on the grill,” they said.
Though many may feel uncomfortable wearing thick gloves during the summer heat and around the hot grill, they explained that they actually help.
Not only do the gloves protect their hands from potential burns, but they also take much of the guesswork out of grilling food.
“You can grab anything,” they explained.
Experienced grillers added a caveat to the handy trick.
“Just don’t use them when wet/damp,” added one commenter.
Others agreed that the trick got to the meat of their problems.
“I wish I had learned this so long ago,” said one viewer.
“[I] spent way too long poking at the lumps of charcoal with tongs trying to tame the time.
“Now I just pick them up and move where needed.”
Many were shocked at the pair of welding gloves’ capabilities.
“They can touch the coals directly? Does it melt the gloves?” asked one commenter.
“Yes, pick the coals up directly, briefly,” replied a commenter.
They revealed that welding gloves allowed them to pick up anything without worrying about burns[/caption]“The gloves are heavy leather and do not melt or burn.”
“This is a true pro tip. Eff the $45 ‘grilling gloves,'” said one commenter.
“I’ve been using welding gloves for a few years now. $15 at Lowe’s, and they’re awesome.”
Those who tried out the hack explained that a pair went a long way.
“I just bought a new pair last week after my old ones started disintegrating,” said one commenter.
“Granted, I left them outside in the Florida sun and rain, but they lasted a good five to six years. Good buy!”
