More than 112,000 tickets issued during NY seatbelt enforcement campaign
NEW YORK STATE (WSYR-TV) -- More than 112,000 tickets were issued in New York State during the "Buckle Up New York, Click it or Ticket" campaign, which ran from May 20 through June 2.
The Governor's Traffic Safety Committee announced that 15,049 tickets for improper seatbelt or child restraint violations were given during the campaign. Over 17,000 speeding tickets were also issued, along with roughly 2,700 tickets for impaired driving.
