1 hospitalized following crash at FM 973, FM 812 intersection

AUSTIN (KXAN) — All northbound and southbound lanes of FM 973 are closed at its intersection with FM 812 in Austin due to a crash, the Texas Department of Transportation's Austin District shared on social media Monday afternoon.

Austin-Travis County EMS confirmed it was responding to a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck at that intersection. The call came in just before 2 p.m. and involved two vehicles, per a social media post.

Preliminary information noted there were four total patients involved in the crash, with one pinned in their vehicle as a result of it. Medics transported one adult as a trauma alert to St. David's South Austin Medical Center with potentially serious injuries, while the remaining three patients refused transport.
