Furious EastEnders fans hit out at storyline blunder as axed character returns
EASTENDERS fans have been left annoyed by writers of the soap not doing their research before a plotline involving a character who is supposed to be long gone.
BBC bosses revealed that matriarch Karen Taylor would be written out of the series in autumn of 2023, but almost a year on, the character is still cropping up.
Karen Taylor has made yet another reappearance on EastEnders[/caption] The character was supposedly axed in the winter of 2023[/caption]She made an appearance on EastEnders tonight to visit Dean Wicks, who is currently locked up for the murder of her son Keanu.
This is the fourth time the woman has been spotted in Walford since she was meant to have left for good last December.
So far she has returned following Keanu’s disappearance, after the discovery of his body, for his final send-off, and now to see the convicted Dean again.
One person also spotted a mistake in the script as Karen was allowed into jail without following the correct protocol.
They groaned: “Your scriptwriters made a cockup of Karen’s prison visit storyline. That couldn’t ever happen.
“She would’ve had to show ID upon arrival at the prison. You don’t just give a name and stroll in. Check the full modus operandi in full in future!”
Others complained that she was even on the show in the first place, with one hitting out: “Yes you’ve seen Dean Karen now f**k off back to off-screen land.”
Another asked: “What’s the point in axing Karen if you’re gonna bring her back every few weeks for an episode or two?”
A third joked: “Karen returning and exiting EastEnders more times than Lorraine Kelly hosts her breakfast show!”
Dean has previously tried to convince the mum that he didn’t kill Keanu.
This made her suspicious, and she has been pressing Linda for information – to no avail.
However, it seems to be only a matter of time before one of The Six slip up and reveal the real murderer.
