Celtics will soon offer Jayson Tatum a $315 million extension
Wojnarowski explained Tatum is on the precipice of landing a five-year, $315 million extension, which will be the largest in league history. Notably, Tatum’s Celtics teammate, Jaylen Brown, has the largest contract in NBA history at this point, although Wojnarowski said the former’s impending deal will “eclipse” it by approximately $30 million. Assuming Tatum takes home the title this year, there will not be much missing from his resume.

Jayson Tatum has one thing on his mind. The Boston Celtics star entered Monday’s Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals just one victory away from the first championship of his career. And even though he is eligible to sign the largest contract in NBA history during the upcoming offseason, the focus is reportedly all on the Larry O’Brien Trophy. “I talked to his agent, Joe Wexler, earlier today,” ESPN’s Adrian Wojanrowski said ahead of Monday’s contest (50-second mark). “Interestingly enough, he says he and Tatum have not discussed the elements of that deal all season.
