1 dead, 2 others injured in East Village stabbing: NYPD

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- One person is dead and two others injured after a stabbing in the East Village on Sunday evening, police say.

Officers received multiple 911 calls for various people stabbed on 426 East 14th Street. Three people were discovered with stab wounds, police said.

At least one victim, a 38-year-old male, was stabbed in the neck and is listed as critically injured, according to authorities.

The other two victims were a 52-year-old female who was stabbed in the leg and a 38-year-old male who was stabbed in the back. They are both expected to recover from their injuries. All three victims were rushed to Bellvue Hospital, police said.

A handful of cops, two police vehicles, and one FDNY truck are at the scene. A video in Citizen shows that the area has been closed off to the public.

One person was taken into police custody as a person of interest, police say.
