Noah Lyles followed up his viral Yu-Gi-Oh! moment by bringing Exodia the Forbidden One to his Olympic trial semifinal run
Noah Lyles had the perfect follow up to his viral Yu-Gi-Oh! moment that took over social media on Saturday.
On Saturday, during the opening round of the U.S. Olympic track and field trials, Lyles went viral for pulling out a Blue-Eyes White Dragon Yu-Gi-Oh! card before sprinting to a first-place finish in the 100 meter event with a 9.92 second time. And on Sunday during his intro for the semifinal, Lyles continued his trend with an even better follow up by flashing the iconic Exodia the Forbidden One card.
Not only that, just after showing off Exodia to the fans, Lyles clocked off a speedy 9.8 seconds to advance to the final later on Sunday!

As for why Lyles has been doing this? Well, not only is he a big fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game and show, he also has an ongoing bet with U.S. thrower Chase Ealey regarding her love of Naruto. In exchange for Lyles flashing Yu-Gi-Oh! cards during the Olympic trials, Ealey will wear Rock Lee’s leg weights during her final!
Gotta love nerds being nerds!
