President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath to BJP member B Mahtab as the 'speaker pro-tem' of the 18th Lok Sabha. Mahtab, a seven-time MP, and a panel of chairpersons will oversee the Lok Sabha proceedings on Monday and Tuesday for members' oath-taking. On Wednesday, Mahtab will preside over the House for the election of a new Speaker. He and the panel were appointed by the president on June 20.
