Report: Tottenham are considering a move for Italy Under-21 international

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Tottenham Hotspur have now expressed an interest in signing Fiorentina starlet Michael Kayode.

Various reports over the last few weeks have continued to suggest that Ange Postecoglou wants multiple defensive reinforcements this summer, with Emerson Royal, Djed Spence and Joe Rodon likely to follow Japhet Tanganga and Ryan Sessegnon out of the door.

The latest to make this claim was Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, who stated a couple of days ago that the Lilywhites could look to sign a right-back who can serve as Pedro Porro’s understudy and another versatile defender who can cover at centre-back and left-back.

Tottenham are looking at Michael Kayode

If TMW’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs have now set their sights on Kayode, who impressed after breaking into Fiorentina’s first-team last season.

The report says that Tottenham have been following the wing-backs in Serie A with great interest following the success of Destiny Udogie and the Viola youngster has now caught their eye.

However, it is explained that Raffaele Palladino’s men do not intend to sell Kayode this summer, with Spurs thus having the deck stacked against them in their efforts to land the teenager.

At this point, it is anybody’s guess who Tottenham’s top full-back and centre-back targets are.

Based on the number of names being mooted as targets for Spurs, it does not appear as if the club have narrowed down their list or made any progress on any particular deal.

Perhaps the Lilywhites are waiting for Emerson Royal and Djed Spence to leave before pushing ahead with moves for their top targets.
