Reese’s Reebok Solutions took on a Juneteenth theme courtesy of the Chicago-based artist Marvin Baroota, who’s made several pairs for the forward over the course of the season. The black and white sneakers feature accents in red, yellow and green — colors frequently associated with the Pan-African movement — and mismatched toe graphics including an invocation of the holiday. Jewels of the same color also appear throughout the sneaker, while a zig-zag-like pattern decorates the mudguard.
Baroota also made custom Solutions for Reese in her previous two games against Clark and the Fever. For their first contest of the season, Reese wore a gradient pink pair inspired by Barbie and her “Bayou Barbie” nickname. For the second contest, Reese donned a pair with a Joker theme seeming to embrace her role as the foil to Clark.
Throughout the season, Reebok has favored the Solution, a shoe inspired by Allen Iverson’s Question model that made its debut in 2022. While still in college playing for Louisiana State, Reese became the first athlete to sign a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal with Reebok. She said in a TikTok livestream earlier this year that she’ll get her own signature sneaker from Reebok.
Reese scored a career-high 25 points to go along with 16 rebounds in the Sky’s 88-87 win Sunday. Clark also boasted 17 points and a franchise-record 13 assists. The Sky lost its two other games against the Fever this season, and they have one remaining game at the end of August.
