Eric Trump hammered as brag about dad's 'greatest accomplishment' triggers mockery
The former president found liable for $464 million in civil fraud damages and guilty of 34 criminal counts of falsifying business records has a reputation for "unvarnished honesty," said his son Eric Trump.
Former President Donald Trump's second child was caught making this fascinating claim on the conspiracy theory-promoting show X22 Report in a viral video clip that hit X on Sunday night.
"Maybe his greatest accomplishment, all right, will actually be kind of the unvarnished honesty he's really taken toward the whole system," Eric Trump said. "He was able to take the system in Washington D.C ... expose these people for what it is."

Laughter ensued almost immediately after more than 250,000 people viewed the video clip and nearly 4,000 took time to respond directly.
"Someone tell Eric that I just checked my thesaurus and 'unvarnished' is not a synonym for 'nonexistent,'" X user Mrs. Betty Bowers quipped.
"I think Eric drinks the varnish," added @CletusSpangler.
X user @monitorfake drew viewers attention to a Washington Post report from 2021 that found Trump had made 30,573 false or misleading claims during his four years in office.
"Due to his unvarnished honesty he uttered over 30,000 lies during his administration, and at least twice as many since he left office," they wrote. "Maybe he should varnish his honesty? Just a thought."
X user David Marlow struck a more serious tone, stating simply, "Honestly, unvarnished honesty is the last thing Liar-in-Chief Trump could ever claim as an asset."
Lora Garver replied with a question for her maker and Charlie Brown's catchphrase.
"Lordy, maybe the whole family is nuts?" she wrote. "Good grief, Trump lied so much someone started counting every time he lied until it became more than they could count."
New Yorker contributor and humorist Paul Rudnick took the comment as an opportunity for creative mockery.
"Eric Trump says his Dad's 'greatest legacy' is his 'unvarnished honesty,'" Rudnick told his followers. "Eric added, 'Just this morning when I asked my Dad who my Mom was he said, 'Maybe Marla, maybe Melania, one of the M ones. Although honestly, I'm not sure, Derek.'"
To this parody, one uncertain follower replied, "I can see how it might actually be true."
