Supreme Court rejects two cases brought by RFK Jr. vaccine group

0

The Supreme Court declined to hear two appeals related to COVID-19 vaccines from Children's Health Defense, the anti-vaccine organization founded by independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The justices did not comment on either of the two rejections, leaving rulings from lower courts in place.

In one case, CHD joined a group of parents who were suing the Food and Drug Administration over its authorization of the COVID-19 vaccine. The organization claimed the vaccines “were ineffective and lacked proper vetting,” but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit dismissed the case for lack of standing.

In the other case, the organization sued Rutgers University over its mandate that students be vaccinated against COVID-19 before attending in-person classes.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit said the plaintiffs "have not stated any plausible claim for relief."

Kennedy took leave from the organization when he began his presidential campaign but is listed as a lawyer on the Rutgers filing.
