Footy fans celebrate as Domino’s launches new BEER for Euro 2024 as England prepare for crunch clash with Slovenia
FOOTBALL fans are celebrating as Domino’s has launched a new beer for Euro 2024 as England prepare for a crunch clash with Slovenia.
Domino’s have teamed up with BrewDog to create an IPA named The Perfect Match.
And the experts think the beer is the perfect compliment to Domino’s the Ultimate Spicy Sausage pizza.
The collaboration comes after a poll of 2,000 fans discovered enjoying a pizza (35%) with the game was the top food option, ahead of burger and fries (31%) – and a beer (44%) being the go-to beverage of choice.
Sam Wilson, Beer Baron at Domino’s said: “As the top scorer when it comes to pizza, we wanted to create the perfect match for fans this football season.
“We know what a good partnership needs. Just as our research shows, a good understanding and complimenting each other well are key factors in making it work.
“We’re excited to be working with BrewDog to bring a refreshing beer to fans – an epic collaboration we’re chuffed to see canned, sealed and delivered, let’s hope our home teams do the same.”
But it’s not just great partnerships off the pitch that Brits care about, as research unearthed who football fans rank as the ultimate football duo, and what makes a great partnership on the pitch.
The results also revealed the most iconic international football partnerships of all time are Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry (21%), Ronaldo and Rivaldo (20%), and Pelé and Garrincha (18%).
The most popular English duo goes to Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard (14%).
When diving into what makes a strong partnership, 70% of British footy fans believe that a truly great team always needs to contain at least one iconic partnership.
Two thirds (65%) rank a good understanding and complementing each other (61%) as being crucial factors to a perfect footballing duo.
A third (36%), however, just want to see a footballing pair having fun together – on and off the field much like Peter Crouch and Jermaine Defoe.
For some, football is a way of life. More than four in 10 (43%) say that when their favourite footballing duo is playing, they’ll happily ditch all other plans to tune in and watch.
When it comes to watching a football match and creating the perfect watching conditions, for over a quarter (27%) it’s all about having the prime spot to sit, whereas for others it’s all about being with friends and family (16%) or having a refreshing drink in hand for the match (12%).

Lauren Carroll, CMO at BrewDog says: “The brewing wizards in our beer lab wanted to bring a mix of flavours and notes together to match perfectly with a piping hot slice of Domino’s pizza.
“The dry hop aroma and bitterness in the beer cuts through the richness of the creamy mozzarella cheese, whilst pairing delicately with the fresh Domino’s dough.
“In addition to the hops, the citrus notes complement spicy pork ingredients like pepperoni or ‘Nduja and pair perfectly on the palate with the iconic Garlic & Herb Dip.”
